W-12 Shared Governance -- A Collaboration For Tough Times
Type of workshop:
Post-conference
Name(s):
Joe Flynn, SUNY Distinguished Service Professor of English Emeritus Past President; Karen Markoe, Professor, State University of New York Maritime College
Menaced by a deepening recession and faced with an array of competing issues, institutions need shared governance that works, now more than ever. Join veteran facilitators Joe Flynn and Karen Markoe as they take us into the world of "Drift Grove University", a highly interactive, dramatized case study that explores the multiple dimensions of governance, transforms apathy into activism and shows how a sense of common needs and goals can be achieved. All participants will become agents of change or resistance as the "Grove" struggles to create a sustainable future. For maximum benefit, faculty and administrators are encouraged to attend as a team.
