Institutional learning can occur in fits and starts or in processes that sustain momentum over time. Participants in an ACSCU/WASC longitudinal study will share lessons about institutional learning and how it occurs in the years between accreditation reviews. Personnel changes in universities and at WASC have emerged as a key issue. Too often, successful organizational change requires a champion, yet organizational learning must extend beyond the knowledge of a single champion to permeate the organization. Sustaining data-informed decision making, retention strategies, assessment of student learning and other initiatives without depending upon a champion - that poses a challenge to us all. The panelists value dialogue and invite session participants to share examples from their own campuses.
