At California State University Long Beach, a learning community for the most academically needy entering freshmen has significantly improved success rates in core mathematics and writing courses and first year retention. At the University of California Riverside, libraries have become important partners in the implementation of learning communities and other campus wide initiatives to support student success. These two presentations will share implementation strategies, results and lessons learned.
