Don’t Just Survive – Thrive in a Learning Outcomes-Based Environment

How does a college train its faculty to teach effectively in a learning outcomes-based environment? San Joaquin Valley College addressed this challenge head-on by developing an interactive training course for new and tenured faculty. Faculty learned how to use a five-step lesson plan to achieve the desired outcomes. The college was able to document measurable improvements in retention, student engagement and faculty job satisfaction as a result of this focused faculty training.
