What models are there for supporting effective collaboration on assessment? National University has developed two approaches that build on campus community. A learning community model was introduced to engage relevant constituents in developing meaningful, manageable and sustainable assessment practices. Another "community" that was harnessed to support assessment is the campus's structure for shared governance. Representatives of the Faculty Senate, Graduate Council, Undergraduate Council, and the Council of Chairs met with the provost and president to brainstorm and design an action plan to promote assessment and a learning environment of continuous improvement. The presentation will outline steps taken and document progress on this ongoing endeavor.
