In this session, presenters wrestle with issues related to diversity in the classroom. On web sites and in mission statements, campuses nationwide espouse an appreciation for diversity, but do they take sufficient measures to ensure that students from all backgrounds feel valued and respected in courses and the classroom? What role do faculty members play in accountability for culturally inclusive pedagogy and curricula? How do we know that our curricula are culturally inclusive? These are all questions that we must ask and answer. The session concludes with an in-depth look at a particular case: the lack of minority women in business schools.
