Creativity is crucial to our species' survival. Sir Ken Robinson says that the lack of creativity in our current education system is a crisis on par with that of global warming. Most educators see the value in embracing creativity as a 21st century skill. They may grow uneasy, however, when asked to assess it. Indeed, many forms of assessment can drain the creativity out of the most inspired work. But in order to teach and nurture creativity, we do need to assess it in some way. Join representatives from Woodbury University and the Academy of Art University as they share tools and survey data they have found useful in assessing creativity on their respective campuses. Most importantly, bring your own creative energy to workshop exercises that will take you one step further in the task of assessing creativity in your own students.
