Online programs -- particularly graduate programs -- are readily available and growing in popularity. Therefore it's essential that we understand best practices. This panel presents findings from a descriptive research study that investigated specific online instructional practices. We identified seven principles for effective learning: Contact, Cooperation (among students), Active Learning, Prompt Feedback, Time on Task, High Expectations, and Respect for Diverse Talents and Ways of Knowing.
